The villa has a large, private pool which overlooks the stunning countryside and offers fabulous mountain and distant sea views. There are plenty of sunbeds dotted around the pool terrace, providing the perfect spot to relax and admire the wonderful scenery. To one end is a shaded terrace with a portable BBQ and dining table with chairs - great for those alfresco meals. There is also a utility room and steps down to the annexe below.
9 steps lead up to a mature garden with spacious lawn area, offering plenty of opportunity for those family games. From this garden you can access the studio bedroom, or head up a flight of stairs to the main house.
The villa is accessed through private gates, leading to a large driveway with plenty of off-road parking for your hire car. There is 1 step up to the front door of the main house, which opens in to a spacious hallway.
The bright and airy living area has large patio doors framing the beautiful countryside views and opening out to a terrace which wraps around 3 sides of the villa. Furnished with comfortable seating, the room provides a sociable space to relax after a day by the pool. 2 steps lead up to the stylish dining area, which also has patio doors opening on to the covered terrace. Here you'll find an outdoor dining table with chairs overlooking the superb views. The terrace continues round the side of the villa, with a further alfresco dining area and a brick BBQ under a pergola. Steps lead from here down to the villa gardens below.
The spacious kitchen is traditional in style with wooden cabinets and tiled floors. There is plenty of worktop space and a large Aga oven, so you'll be well equipped for those holiday meals. A door leads out to the side of the villa and the BBQ area.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
On the ground floor, 2 steps down from the hallway, is a double bedroom with en suite shower room. There is also a WC on this floor. Upstairs you'll find a second, spacious double bedroom with large patio doors opening out to a private balcony overlooking the superb countryside and distant sea views. What better place to relax and admire the scenery? There is also a twin bedroom and separate bathroom on this level.
Located on the lower ground floor is a separate studio bedroom with twin beds, a small kitchenette and a shower room. You'll even have your own private terrace with outdoor dining area - perfect if you're looking for your own space! The studio has its own private access, with the front door opening out to the villa gardens. Please note the cooker will not be in use.
Beneath the swimming pool is a spacious annexe, accessed via a flight of stairs from the pool area. The bright living and dining area open on to the private terrace, equipped with a dining table and chairs for your morning cup of coffee. The adjacent kitchen is furnished with wooden cabinets and overlooks the stunning mountain views. There is 1 twin and 1 double bedroom, both of which are pleasantly decorated, and share used of a separate bathroom. The double bedroom also has direct access to the bathroom.

Villa Las Mariquitas is a detached property with a wonderful countryside location, just a 5 minute drive from the whitewashed village of Frigiliana. Here you'll find some great restaurants serving traditional Spanish cuisine, as well as some lovely boutique shops. The bustling resort of Nerja, with a plethora of restaurants and bars plus some fabulous sandy beaches, is also only 10 minutes' drive away.
Local markets and shopping
Frigiliana has a weekly market every Thursday selling everything from clothes, leather goods, jewellery, fruit and vegetables. There are also some great boutiques and shops in the village, perfect for picking up your daily essentials and some souvenirs. Nerja is also home to a street market every Tuesday as well as some independent boutiques.
Bars and restaurants
Frigiliana has a range of restaurants and cuisines, from authentic Spanish dishes to something more international. In the main square, you will find some lovely places to eat, and if you explore a little further you'll find little restaurants tucked away in the cobbled streets. Alternatively, head to Nerja with lots of restaurants and bars to choose from, great for families.
The closest beaches to your villa can be found in Nerja, which has around 7 miles of beautiful coastline. The famous Playa Burriana is one of the most popular, a Blue Flag beach with watersports, children's play area and some great restaurants overlooking the sea, serving freshly caught fish. On the other side of town is Torrecilla Beach, with soft sand, shallow waters and sunbeds to hire.
The Aquavelis water park, located 20 minutes' drive away in the nearby town of Torre del Mar, is great for a day of family fun and well worth a visit. Closer to home, the Nerja Caves are one of the most popular attractions in the area. Why not combine a visit with a ride on one of the tourist trains?
Places of interest
In Frigiliana visit the old Moorish castle at the top of the village, with spectacular views. In Nerja the Balcon de Europa, formerly a fortress designed to keep out British pirates, has fabulous views up and down the coastline. It's a hive of activity and completely pedestrianised, with cafes, restaurants and ice cream parlours.
Golf courses are plentiful in Andalucia. 20 minutes' drive away is Baviera Golf, an 18 hole course with driving range.
Between the resorts of Frigiliana and Nerja there are many walks to enjoy. Walking along the River Chillar in summer is great fun with a cooling splash in the water and plenty of wildlife to see.

The popular Nerja Tourist Train takes you on a trip around the town, a good way to get your bearings as well as being an enjoyable experience for the kids! It connects the Nerja Caves with the historical centre of Nerja with various places and monuments passed along the way.
The wonderful Caves of Nerja in Maro Village are one of the most popular tourist attractions in the area. They are set in the slopes of the Sierra Almijara Mountains, and stretch for over 3 miles. Paintings over 20,000 years old, as well as stalactites can be found, whilst classical concerts are held here in the summer.
The Balcon de Europa is the focal point of Nerja town, and formerly a fortress designed to keep out British pirates. Today it offers spectacular views up and down the coastline. It’s a hive of activity and completely pedestrianised, as are the adjoining streets and is lined with cafes, restaurants and ice cream parlours.
The Chillar River Walk takes you from the beach in Nerja, leading through Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara and the Alhama Natural Park. The crystal clear river pools combined with the shaded canyon, are perfect for a hot summer’s day with a cooling splash in the water to keep your refreshed.
There are 2 water parks within 30 minutes’ drive from Nerja: Aquavelis and Aquatropic. Aquavelis is located in Torre del Mar and as well as the usual adrenalin slides there’s a mini-zone for the younger children. Aquatropic is a saltwater waterpark, and the larger of the two, located in Almunecar.
This 18-hole course is located 11 miles from Nerja and provides an interesting challenge to all golfers. The first nine holes do not present too many difficulties, although the greens have several water features and drops. If you fancy venturing a little further there are over 50 courses west of Malaga to choose from, so don't forget your clubs...
