The picturesque village of Frigiliana is perched on a ridge in the Tejeda mountains, securing it fantastic, scenic views. It’s undoubtedly one of the prettiest of the typical Andalucian ‘white villages’ in Andalucia, having won awards as Andalucia’s Prettiest Village. The river - Rio Higueron - runs through the centre, providing lovely walks and picnic spots. Frigiliana’s old historical centre is distinctively Moorish in appearance and design, with a labyrinth of narrow, winding streets and alleyways, a great place to wander. If you are lucky enough to be visiting at the right time in August the Three Cultures Festival (las tres culturas) is an event not to be missed. It celebrates the cultures that have left their mark on the area, much of what is still evident in this part of Spain today. Although the town is located inland, you’re never too far from a beach where you can kick back, soak up the sun and lose yourself in a good book. If you’d rather stay in the resort, then why not catch some sun by the pool of your holiday villa?
