Located on the crest of a hill (hence the name), Villa Cresta is in a good position, close to the facilities of Son Bou. It only takes a few minutes to drive down into the resort which has a huge choice of places to eat, drink and shop. The magnificent bay is a short walk from the centre and is said to be one of the best beaches on the island - its soft golden sand and shallow water makes it a great choice for families!
Local markets and shopping
The centre of Son Bou has several shops to browse where you can pick up beachwear or souvenirs to take home, as well as fresh food to cook on your very own BBQ at the villa!
Bars and restaurants
This much-loved resort has something for everyone. Son Bou's beach bars are the perfect setting for a snack, light lunch or cool drink. Or, relax on one of the attractive bar terraces in the centre of the resort - choose from simple local bars to Hawaiian-style cocktail lounges where the drinks are served by staff on roller skates! You can also dine out in a quality restaurant whilst enjoying breathtaking views out to sea.
Son Bou has one of the longest and best loved beaches on the island, within a couple of minutes' walk from the centre. The far western end is popular with naturists, but with its soft sand and clear shallow water, the majority of the beach is mostly occupied by families. There are also a couple of good beachside cafes where you can take a break from the sun to enjoy a cool drink or a bite to eat while watching the sunset.
A mere 15 minutes away by car is the popular Lloc de Menorca Zoo. The island also has 3 waterparks, the nearest being Splash! in Biniancolla on the East Coast, 30 minutes' drive away.
Places of interest
Son Bou is located on the central Southern Coast of Menorca making anywhere on the island easily accessible within around 40 minutes' drive. You can visit the island's highest peak, Monte Toro, and admire the spectacular panoramic views from the cafe or browse the gift shop. Or why not enjoy a daytrip to either of Menorca's main towns - Ciutadella or Mahon? Each town has a huge selection of shops and places to eat, as well as a lovely harbour.
Menorca's only golf course is in Son Parc, around 30 minutes' drive North of Son Bou.
Son Bou Beach has pedaloes for hire and there are also various sporting facilities such as tennis, water sports and horse riding within easy reach by car.
Every villa comes with its own manual, complete with details of the best restaurants, taxis, local amenities and activities. And of course, our reps are on hand to make sure you love your holiday more. If you need any advice or tips on the local area, they will be more than happy to help.
El Toro, at 360 metres above sea level, is the highest peak on Menorca. In the centre of the island it towers above the small town of Es Mercadal. Take the time to drive up the steep 3.2km climb to the summit and see the whole of the island spread out beneath you. There are sea views on all four sides and, on a clear day, the view stretches to the north coast of Mallorca. The mountain is crowned by a convent which has become an important centre of pilgrimage and the neat vegetable and herb gardens beneath the terraces are still tended to by the community of nuns who live there. Visit the tiny chapel or have lunch in the rustic café and browse around the shop, packed with souvenirs and local produce.
There are tennis courts in almost every resort, all of which hire out equipment. Try the facilities at Santo Tomas, Calan Porter, Calan Forcat, Arenal Den Castell, Calan Bosch or S'algar.
There is only one golf course on the island, set amongst the pine trees in Son Parc, on the North coast. It has recently been extended from 9 holes to 18 and is open 365 days per year. There is an 18 bay floodlit driving range with the latest technology - Swingcam. Junior golfers are welcome if accompanied by an adult and the golf shop stocks equipment for purchase or hire for children of 5 years upwards. The dress code is lenient - shorts, t-shirts and trainers are acceptable but NOT sleeveless vests, swimwear, flipflops etc.If golf plays an important part of your holiday then it is wise to book in advance.http://www.golfsonparc.com/en

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Cresta and this was our second visit.
Overall a very good service. The resort rep, Michelle, was excellent and resolved any issues promptly and efficiently.
Truly beautiful villa. Well laid out and first rate pool. Just out of the main hustle and bustle, so nice and quiet. Bit of a walk to the main beach, restaurants etc with kids, but parking is all free and easy in the resort. Easy access to the rest of the island. Would definitely recommend.
Very well appointed villa with everything you could wish for.
Bright modern villa with good size pool
Although we did not need to call on the Villa Plus rep. Amanda, for help she popped in to see us on our first day there, which we thought was good. We had met Amanda last year when we stayed at Villa Roxana. We will certainly be going with Villa Plus next year.
Good location on the hill, well equipped and great facilities
Villa Cresta is a well appointed modern villa with a lovely pool area. All TV, white goods and air con are in almost new condition. The hilltop location has great views, but is a disadvantage if you shun using the car - just plan around when to climb back up the hill. Although close to the San Valentin Hotel, the noise level is minimal to none. Good range of restaurants and bars in the resort and don't fear the bus service to go elsewhere - there is absolutely no hassle and the drivers all speak English. If you don't mind missing a drink and driving, then this is an excellent choice of villa.
Everything about the villa was absolutely fantastic. Couldn't find fault with anything. Just keep up the good work Villaplus are a very professional company you have got a very friendly and competant representive with Amanda she is excellent at her job.
In some instances the grammar and spelling has been corrected by Villa Plus, but the overall score and comments have not been altered.
