The town also has many quaint gift shops and mini markets can also be found nearby for daily essentials. The square at Puerto Pollensa also holds a popular weekly market.
Bars and restaurants
Pollensa Old Town has several authentic Spanish restaurants and cafes serving tapas and paella. The town has a laid-back atmosphere by day, but really comes to life at night when you can often find live music playing in the square. If you fancy a change of scenery, it's only a short drive into Puerto Pollensa (Puerto Pollenca) which has a choice of more fashionable seafront bistros.
The nearest beach is the huge sandy bay at Puerto Pollensa, with views of the extending coastline. However, the small coves of Cala San Vicente are a little over 6 miles north if you prefer the comfort of a smaller, more secluded beach.
The neighbouring resort of Alcudia has a great waterpark with several pools, slides and water-based activities for all ages. The resort also has a go-karting track and horse riding facilities, or venture north to Cala San Vicente which has a mini-golf course.

This 9 hole course is great when time is pressing. Protected by the mountains 'Puig de Santa Maria', Golf Pollença was designed in 1986 on a small hillside in a green valley overlooking the sea. The course is challenging with its tricky dog-legs and difficult green. Two essential requirements for the creation of a good golf course are a spectacular setting and a first rate architect. Both exist here in Alcanada, Alcudia. The designers are the legendary architects Robert Trent Jones Senior and Robert Trent Jones Junior. The virgin terrain, gently sloping down towards the shoreline, with pine, olive and oak trees, offer marvellous views of the island of Alcanada with the lighthouse in the foreground and the mountains of the Sierra de Levante in the background.Address: 07410 Puerto de Alcudia, MajorcaTel: +34 971 22 09 66Fax: +34 971 22 09 67Website: www.golf-alcanada.comFor golf bookings - Email: firstname.lastname@example.org Description: Eighteen holes, 6477 metres, Par 72Green fees: 105 eurosHandicap limit: Ladies-35, Men-33 HCP card requiredEquipment hire: Electric buggy-37 euros, Trolley-4 euros, Clubs 28 eurosLocation: Just outside Alcudia, off the main Alcudia to Arta road C712 and follow signs.
These are the most famous tourist attractions on the island of Majorca. They are also known as Dragon Caves due to the fact that the dragon features in many Majorcan fairytales and is believed to be a symbol of strength and a defence against intruders. There are three chambers inside the caves, Cueva Negra (Black Cave), Cueva Blanca (White Cave) and Cueva Luis Salvator (Luis Salvator Cave). Today, visitors can take a boat ride on the lake and see the beautiful limestone formations, including stalagmites protruding from the rock-face and stalactites hanging down from the roof of the cave. As part of their journey underground, they are accompanied by the sound of musicians performing classical music, including compositions by Chopin, every hour on a boat..
